How B2B Tech Founders Achieve Goals And Beat Challenges
A sales mentor of mine many years ago gave me this line which I'll never forget: "persistence breaks resistance".
I'm pretty sure you have woken up to some super tough days in your business, especially this year. At the moment it feels like it just keeps coming too. Roll on 2021 already...
If this email had a gif it would show a person ducking and weaving between all of what life has to throw.
But this email is meant to put a spring in your step today.
There will always be resistance between where you are today and where you want to be. You just got to break it.
In the past three months, I have seen clients launch new products, some have sent their first invoices and one company even raised capital.
There is sunshine above the clouds, you just have to weather the storm.
And I know this is easier said than done.

But here I want to share a couple of observations that will fuel your persistence:
Crystal clear vision. Do you have a clear image in mind of where you want to end up? The key here is to have in mind an image, something you can see and maybe even touch or feel. Just for you.
Action proceeds motivation. We can easily get sucked into a vortex of self-doubt and thinking it'll be easier to throw in the towel. Be clear on your reason for doing this? What impact are you hoping for? Get momentum from small wins.
Have an action plan. Before things get tough you want to have a roadmap of where you are heading and what steps need to be taken. It allows you to understand your current position relative to where you are going.
Stay optimistic. Easier said than done, I get it. But maybe look at stepping back from the problem. Take a break, go for a walk, take time away. I find a good way is to do physical exercise as it feeds your dopamine levels and gives you a slight nudge towards optimism.
Find support. This should probably be right at the top. I have spoken about how business can be lonely in the past. Often, friends, relatives and partners don't get what it takes to run a business, let alone the issues you face. If you are lucky enough to be surrounded by people who get it, good on you. If not, find yourself a mastermind group of people who will support you when things get tough.
Build routines and habits. It's one thing to write down your goals and vision, the other is to stick at it and keep working on making it happen. Develop mini-systems aka routines that help you to get work done.
You could be one invoice away from solving all your cashflow issues ;-)
Like the tree in the wind, you can't control the climate but you can make a stand.
Stay persistent,
Flavio Hangarter
